The Institute’s director, Dr. Michael Rappa, was in Washington, DC, today testifying at a hearing of the Committee on Science, Space and Technology in the U.S. House of Representatives. The focus of the hearing was Next Generation Computing and Big Data Analytics. In his testimony, Dr. Rappa discussed the role different academic disciplines such as computer science, statistics, and others play in Analytics, the Institute’s success with the Master of Science in Analytics (MSA) is addressing the severe shortage of skilled professionals like data scientists, and the MSA program’s potential as a model for other universities.
