Proposal Awaits Chancellor’s Approval

The request for authorization to plan the new Institute for Advanced Analytics has been reviewed and endorsed by the Research Operations Council and by the Council of Deans. The proposal has been forwarded today to the Vice Chancellor for Research and Graduate Studies, Dr. John Gilligan, for his signature and presentation to Chancellor James Oblinger. Approval is expected upon finalization of the University’s new guidelines for the creation of Centers, Institutes and Laboratories in January.

Executive Advisory Board Meets

The first biennial meeting of the Executive Advisory Board was held today on the campus of SAS Institute. All members of the board were in attendance. Members reviewed the progress made during the past six months toward the creation of the new Master of Science in Analytics degree, including what remains in the final steps of the approval process. Information was presented regarding prospective students and career opportunities for graduates, as well as information from the ongoing discussion among faculty regarding the Analytics curriculum.
