The Institute welcomes the matriculation of 120 students in the Class of 2017, and marks a significant milestone enrolling its tenth cohort in the Master of Science in Analytics (MSA) degree program. It’s the largest class to date and, by the numbers, a very accomplished group of students.
The MSA is one of NC State University’s largest and most-selective graduate programs. For the third consecutive year the acceptance rate for applicants remained below 13-percent. The admissions committee reviewed a record number of 1,140 applications and interviewed 370 candidates. A total of 147 (12.9%) were offered admission to enroll 120 students. Incoming students represent 18 countries of origin and hail from 22 states coast-to-coast. Ninety percent of the Class of 2017 are U.S. citizens or permanent residents. Forty-five percent have three or more years of prior work experience, and almost one in five hold advanced degrees.
The Institute for Advanced Analytics has been preparing data savvy professionals for leadership in a digital world since 2007. Its mission is to produce the world’s finest practitioners of analytics — individuals who have mastered complex methods and tools for large-scale data modeling, who have a passion for solving challenging problems through teamwork, who are guided by intellectual curiosity, honesty and integrity, and who strive to attain the highest level of professionalism through continuous self-improvement.
