As the M.S. in Analytics degree proposal makes its way through the approval process, prospective students may wish to consider their options to prepare for possible admission to the program. To help in this process, a new page has been created to share information with prospective students in a timely manner. Curriculum Discussion Underway

Over the past few weeks members of the Analytics Working Group have begun to offer suggestions for learning modules as part of the curriculum for the proposed M.S. in Analytics. So far, 40 suggestions have been received with the help of 32 faculty across seven colleges. The modules are being compiled and organized by the steering committee for further discussion by the working group. Presentation to Administrative Board

A presentation of the Analytics degree proposal was made to the 24-member Administrative Board of the Graduate School. There was a lengthy and thorough discussion and Board members provided several helpful comments. The written proposal has been revised to address questions raised during the meeting. The proposal will be voted upon the the Board’s next meeting in September.

Faculty Working Group Formed

An interdisciplinary working group with over thirty NC State faculty has been formed to define the curriculum for the proposed degree in Analytics. The working group is guided by a steering committee, which includes: David Dickey, Julie Earp, Charles Jones, Michael Rappa, Henry Schaffer and Laurie Williams. The working group is open to all faculty who wish to participate in the curriculum discussion.
