The Institute welcomes applicants for the Master of Science in Analytics (MSA) Class of 2018, our 11th student cohort, which will begin studies next summer (June 2017). The MSA is the nation’s longest running full-fledged master’s degree program in data science with an unparalleled track record for producing highly sought-after graduates. Practicum Team Kick-offs
Twenty-four teams of Master of Science in Analytics (MSA) students spread out across the country the past few weeks to kick-off practicum projects with their sponsors. From Boston to Orlando to Dallas, Texas, teams traveled to meet with executives to review business objectives and to familiarize themselves with the sponsor organization and industry. The MSA Class of 2017 brings the total number of practicum projects to 130 with over 100 sponsors since the Institute’s inception in 2007. The projects cover a wide spectrum of problem areas and industries.

Institute Hosts Meet-up
The Institute is delighted to announce the kick-off meeting for the new Raleigh Chapter of the Digital Analytics Association (DAA) the evening of October 20th. Hortonworks solutions engineer Dan Zaratsian (MSA Class of 2011) will be our guest speaker. Dan’s talk is entitled “Creating a Connected Digital Analytics Platform for Streaming Analytics and Machine Learning.”

Simmons Joins Faculty
