The Institute is delighted to host The 4th Annual Foresight Practitioner Conference: Recoupling Forecasting with Inventory Control and Supply Planning on November 15-16, 2017. Produced in conjunction with Foresight: The International Journal of Applied Forecasting, the conference program features talks by nine forecasting experts, including keynote speaker Aris Syntetos, Professor of Operational Research and Operations Management at Cardiff University, who will share his recommendations for better communication between demand forecasters and inventory controllers. Congratulations to the Class of 2017—the Institute’s 10th and largest cohort of students—on their successful completion of the Master of Science in Analytics degree program. A total of 118 degrees were conferred at today’s commencement ceremony. For the second consecutive year the leading international association for professionals in analytics and operations research, INFORMS, has named the Institute for Advanced Analytics one of three finalist schools in the competition for the UPS George D. Registration is now open for the Digital Analytics Association (DAA) Raleigh Symposium, which will be hosted at the Institute for Advanced Analytics on February 2nd from 12:30–6:00pm. The symposium program includes Casey Carey (Director, Google Analytics Marketing at Google), Adam Greco (Senior Partner at Analytics Demystified), Brooks Bell (Founder and CEO at Brooks Bell), Sig Mejdal (Director of Decision Sciences at Houston Astros), Amy Sample (Sr. Director, Digital Analytics at Public Broadcasting Service), and Charlotte Whitmore (Founder at AnalyticsPros). The registration fee is $75 for DAA members and $125 for non-members.
The Institute welcomes applicants for the Master of Science in Analytics (MSA) Class of 2018, our 11th student cohort, which will begin studies in June. Along with the New Year comes the addition of a new wing to the Institute’s facilities in the Alliance Building. The opening of the 3,000 square foot expansion to the 2nd floor gives the Institute a new main entrance to welcome visitors. Students in the Master of Science in Analytics (MSA) Class of 2017 celebrated the holidays with a mixture of good fun and community service. Students worked to bring together a wonderful collection of toys and other gifts for infants and children at WakeMed Hospital.
