Nineteen practicum teams in the Class of ’24 have begun the 8-month journey to successfully apply their analytical skills and deliver data-driven insights to sponsoring organizations. Teams traveled around the region meeting with sponsors to discuss objectives.

Wilson Appointed Associate Director
April Wilson has been promoted to Associate Director, succeeding Kathy Green, who retires this month. Since joining in December 2012 as the Institute’s first full-time career services professional, April has been instrumental in launching the data science careers of over 1,200 graduates. With two decades of human resource experience in higher education and industry, she brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to her new role.

Villanes Speaks at UPCH
The Institute’s Dr.Andrea Villanes will travel to Peru to speak with students and faculty of Computer Engineering at the Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia (UPCH) about epidemiological surveillance using public media text mining.

Class of ’23 Arrives
After two years of holding “remote” orientations due to the pandemic, it was especially joyful to welcome students in the Master of Science in Analytics back to the Institute in person. The Class of ’23 is the Institute’s sixteen annual cohort to begin the 40-week journey in what is the country’s longest-standing full-fledged graduate degree program in data science.
