Personal information: Name, address, phone number, email, DOB, etc.
Academic history: To be eligible, you must hold a bachelor’s degree from or be in the final year of your undergraduate studies at an accredited U.S. college or university or its foreign equivalent. You must provide information on all of the colleges you have attended (regardless of degree completion) and upload copies of transcripts with your application. Applicants may upload unofficial copies of transcripts to their application; we only require official sealed transcripts after an applicant is admitted to the program.
Recommendations: Provide contact information for three individuals who have a substantive understanding about your academic and/or professional record of accomplishment. You should not invite classmates or family members to provide a recommendation. Your listed references will receive an automated message with instructions on how to log in and upload the letter of recommendation.
Personal statement: A brief statement (1-2 pages in length) of how the MSA fits into your near-term and long-term professional career goals.
Résumé: Include a current résumé or curriculum vitae.
Financial aid: As the Institute does not provide scholarships, fellowships or graduate assistantships, please indicate “Admission Only” on the application.
Entry date: The only entry term for MSA students is Summer Session 2 each year.
Application fee: The nonrefundable application fee is $75 for domestic and US permanent residents, $85 for international applicants. Credit card payment of the application fee is preferred, as payment by personal check causes significant delays in the application review process.
Language proficiency: Most international applicants will need to submit TOEFL or IELTS scores to the Graduate School using institution code 5496. Please review the English proficiency requirement.
Entrance exam: We do not consider scores from standardized entrance exams such as the Graduate Record Examination (GRE) or Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) as part of the MSA admissions process.
Deadlines: We are currently accepting applications for the MSA Class of 2020, which begins studies in June 2019. International applicants should apply by December 15 to meet the Graduate School’s priority deadline. Domestic applicants should apply by March 15. All available seats are filled by the end of April.
Admission interview: We require all applicants to whom we are considering offering admission to have an interview with our admissions committee. A member of our team will contact you to schedule an interview, to be held here at the Institute or by video conference.
Visiting: If you have questions about the MSA program or the application process, a member of the Institute’s admissions team can assist you. To aid us in delivering personalized attention, we ask that you request a consultation appointment in advance.
Questions: Read the Admissions FAQ. If you do not find the answer, email your question to the Institute’s admissions team.
