Personal information: Name, address, phone number, email, DOB, etc.
Academic history: Applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree from or be in the final year of their undergraduate studies at an accredited U.S. college or university or its foreign equivalent. You must provide information on all of the colleges you have attended (regardless of degree completion) and upload copies of transcripts with your application. Applicants may upload unofficial copies of transcripts to their application; we only require official sealed transcripts after an applicant is admitted to the program.
Recommendations: Provide contact information for three individuals who have a substantive understanding about your academic and/or professional record of accomplishment. You should not invite classmates or family members to provide a recommendation. Your listed references will receive an automated message with instructions on how to log in and upload the letter of recommendation.
Personal statement: A brief statement (1-2 pages in length) of how the MSA fits into your near-term and long-term professional career goals. (Disregard the lengthy instructions on the Graduate School web site pertaining to personal statements .)
Résumé: Include a current résumé or curriculum vitae.
Financial aid: The Institute does not provide scholarships, fellowships or graduate assistantships. You should indicate “Admission Only” on the application and do not apply for “Financial Aid”. Students may be eligible for educational loans, depending on their situation.
Entry date: Indicate “Summer Session 2” and the appropriate year, as semester for admission. The Institute only admits students in Summer Session 2 each year.
Application fee: The nonrefundable application fee is $75 for domestic and US permanent residents, $85 for international applicants. Credit card payment of the application fee is preferred. Using a personal check can cause significant delays in the application review process.
Language proficiency: Most international applicants will need to submit TOEFL or IELTS scores to the Graduate School (See more information about the English proficiency requirement). TOEFL and IELTS scores should be reported to us using institution code 5496.
Entrance exam: Standardized entrance exams such as the Graduate Record Examination (GRE) or Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) are not required for admission. Do not send score reports unless requested by the Institute. Note: the Graduate School application will ask applicants to provide test information (because normally it is required). MSA applicants should bypass that section of the application. There is no need to indicate a GRE code or GMAT code.
Deadlines: Applications are accepted year round. International applicants should apply by December 15 to meet the Graduate School’s priority deadline, but no later than January 31. Domestic applicants should apply before May 1. All applicants are encouraged to apply early. Admissions decisions are made on a rolling basis.
Admission interview: The Institute will contact an applicant when an interview is required.
Visiting: Arrange to speak or visit with an admission consultant. We are unable to accommodate unscheduled visits. In most cases appointments are made only after an application is submitted and at our discretion.
Questions: Read the Admissions FAQ. If you do not find the answer, send your question to MSA Admissions.
