Bio

Val Schwartz joined the Institute for Advanced Analytics in June 2017.

Val believes she has the best job at the institute, as she’s involved with the full student lifecycle — she conducts initial consultations with prospective applicants, manages admissions and enrollment processes, coaches students during their time in the MSA program, and supports alumni engagement. She leads content development for the IAA’s website, newsletters, LinkedIn, and Instagram.

Val’s higher education career spans more than 20 years. She worked at two liberal arts colleges in her native Pennsylvania, and then at Duke, before joining NC State as part of the Park Scholarships program staff. She learned about the Institute when a Park Scholar asked her to write a letter of recommendation for her MSA application — and, lo and behold, Val and that Park Scholar began their tenures at the IAA on the same day, several months later!

In her free time, you’ll find Val reading, running, scrapbooking, consignment store shopping, planning her next vacation, or exploring the outdoors with her partner, Aaron, and their Welsh terrier, Towyn.
