The Master of Science in Analytics at NC State’s Institute for Advanced Analytics is the oldest and boldest data science master’s program in the U.S. We got our start in 2007, when data analytics jobs were just emerging, and we’ve been evolving along with the field ever since.
None of our cohorts have ever gone through the same curriculum. We regularly update our curriculum to train our students in the latest skills, trends and technology in the field of data science. Each year, we welcome around 50-60 students, who go through the 10-month M.S. in Analytics program together.

Before You Apply
Our admissions process is competitive, and we want to see you succeed. Our cohorts generally include a mix of fresh-out-of-college students and seasoned professionals. Due to the fast-paced nature of our full-time, in-person program, applicants must have sufficient statistics coursework and coding proficiency prior to enrollment.
An interview with our admissions team will be required for all applicants under consideration. You will need the following items to submit your application:
Unofficial transcripts from each university you’ve attended, regardless of degree completion.
A 1 to 2 page personal statement addressing how the M.S. in Analytics fits into your short-term and long-term career goals.
A resume or curriculum vitae.
Two letters of recommendation from academic or professional references.
A nonrefundable application fee ($85 for domestic applicants and $95 for international applicants).
