Warren Joins Institute Staff

The Institute is delighted to announce the appointment of Sarah Egan Warren to the position of Technical Communication Specialist. Most recently, Sarah served as the Assistant Director of the Professional Writing Program in the College of Humanities and Social Sciences at NC State, where she taught classes in professional communication, mentored graduate students, and collaborated with faculty, staff, and students on departmental and university-wide programs.

Sarah began working with our students in the Master of Science in Analytics (MSA) degree program in 2008, and since then has worked at the Institute on a limited basis. In her new full-time role, Sarah will have the opportunity to work with MSA students more closely in improving their communication skills—both writing and speaking—throughout the 10-month program. She will teach classes on communication for a variety of professional purposes and provide one-on-one consultations with each student.

“Strong communication skills are essential for analytics professionals,” said the Institute’s director Dr. Michael Rappa. “It’s about connecting with decision-makers. Sarah’s contributions to the curriculum are key to the success of our students. We’re fortunate to have her working alongside our talented faculty and staff full-time.”
