The Institute’s director, Dr. Michael Rappa, was in Montréal today speaking at the Joint Statistical Meetings (JSM), during an invited panel on Curriculum Development and Funding Opportunities in Big Data. In his presentation, Dr. Rappa provided an overview of the Master of Science in Analytics and its success in meeting the growing demand for data scientists. Dr. Rappa was joined on the panel by Bill Howe (University of Washington), Michelle Christine Dunn (National Cancer Institute), Nandini Kannan (NSF) and session chair, Sastry Pantula (Dean of the College of Science at Oregon State University).
