Starting Salaries Set New Record

Employer demand for Master of Science in Analytics (MSA) graduates remains exceptionally strong. With one month until graduation preliminary data on job placement shows over 90-percent of the Class of 2013 have received one or more offers of employment, and over 80-percent have accepted new positions. Two-thirds of the class received two or more job offers, and over half received three or more. The Institute hosted recruiting visits for 47 employers, and students averaged 15 initial job interviews. The average base salary reached an all-time high of $96,900, an increase of nearly 9-percent over the Class of 2012. The average base salary offer for candidates with three or more years of prior work experience rose to $103,500, compared to $84,200 for those without experience. In terms of the geographic distribution of placement, graduates will begin their new employment in 12 different states and the District of Columbia. One-third of the class will be employed in North Carolina.

Commenting on the placement results the Institute’s director, Dr. Michael Rappa, attributed the success to the quality of our students and an innovative learning model. “The Institute attracts tremendous candidates who have a high capacity to learn and strong work ethic. The MSA is a proven formula that combines teamwork, real data, and leading-edge tools to produce the kind of talent employers are looking for when seeking analytics professionals.”

The Class of 2013, which is twice the size of previous classes, extends the Institute’s unparalleled track record of placing students in well-paying positions. The MSA job placement rate has exceeded 90-percent by graduation over 6 consecutive years since the Institute’s inception.
