Simmons Joins Faculty

The Institute is delighted to announce the appointment of Dr. Susan Simmons to its faculty. Previously, Dr. Simmons was Professor of Statistics in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. Dr. Simmons received her Ph.D. in statistics from the University of South Carolina in 2002. She is actively involved in the professional community as an elected member of the International Statistical Institute (ISI) and a member of the American Statistical Association (ASA), The International Environmetrics Society (TIES) and the International Association for Statistical Education (IASE). She is currently the Council of Sections representative for the Risk Analysis Section of the ASA (an elected position) and the secretary of the Southern Research Council of Statistics (SRCoS; an appointed position). She has written over 30 peer-reviewed manuscripts and was an Associate Editor for the journal Environmetrics.
